What happens to a domain name that remains unsold after it is put up for auction?
Expired domain names that remain unsold after being put up for auction and are not renewed by their original registrant are released to the general public, typically between 70 and 75 days post expiration.
How much can I earn from an auction?
You will receive net 40% of the domain name's final selling price, once taxes and transaction fees are paid.

Once my name is sold via auction, can I get it back?
Your right to re-register your name and the fees you are required to pay do not change as a result of the auction. You may re-register your name until the 70th day post the expiry date. Please note that a renewal fee is charged if the name is registered within 40 days post-expiry, and that the higher redemption fee is charged if the name is registered 40 to 70 days post-expiry.
Can I choose not to have my name put up for auction?
By choosing to not renew your name, you are relinquishing your rights to it. As a result, if you do not renew your domain name, it may be put up for auction. If the domain is sold, you will receive 40 percent of the auction's final net selling price once applicable fees and transaction charges are deducted.
What domain names can be made available for auction?
The auction service only places .com, .net, .org, .info and .biz domain names up for auction.
What are the costs involved in auctioning my name?
There are no listing fees for this service. There are renewal fees, an ICANN fee and a financial transaction fee.
How is the domain's minimum bid price set?
The initial asking price for all domain names is $15 USD. Bids must be increased in the following increments:

What happens if I win a domain name?
The domain is placed in escrow for 60 days from the date the auction ended. At the end of escrow, once payment is received, the name is transferred to your profile and the proceeds from the auction are distributed.
How are proceeds distributed?
On the 100th day post expiry, 40% of the final net selling price (minus applicable taxes, domain fees and transaction fees) will be mailed to you via check. The check will be mailed to the administrative contact listed in the domain's WHOIS information. It is therefore very important to you that you keep this information up to date.
Can unsold names be re-auctioned?
No.
Can I sell my entire website via the Domain Name Auction?
No. Only domain names can be sold using this auction system.
